Spring Awakening
We are thrilled to announce our 1st production of 2025...
Spring Awakening
Based on the 1891 play by the same name, this coming of age rock-infused musical follows the lives of teenagers in the late 19th century as they​ navigate love, desire, shame, and self-discovery in a powerful celebration of youth and rebellion.
​
Spring Awakening has extremely mature language and content including but not limited to references to/depictions of sex, masturbation, sexual violence, suicide, and abortion.
ALL students under the age of 18 must have a permission form signed by a legal guardian
in order to audition for this production.
Audition Information:
This production will have two separate auditions: STUDENT and ADULT​​
Student Auditions:
The STUDENT audition is for current 10th graders-Gap Year Students.
All roles EXCEPT for Adult Man/Adult Woman will be cast from this audition.

Date: Sunday, December 8th
Time: 11;30 AM - 2:30 PM
Location: LUMI School of Musical Theatre

Anyone attending the student audition MUST prepare a pre-selected cut from the show. Material choices will be e-mailed to you after you sign up for the audition.
​
There are no "ensemble only" auditions for this production - everyone interested must prepare a vocal audition.​
Adult Auditions:
The ADULT audition is for adults beyond college age who could realistically play the parent of a 16 year old.
The ONLY roles that will be cast from this audition are ADULT MAN/ADULT WOMAN.

Time: 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Location: LUMI School of Musical Theatre

Anyone attending the ADULT audition will read a side from the show at the audition.
Audition material will be emailed to you after you sign up.
​
Please note that both roles are open to actors of ALL genders, despite the labels of MAN/WOMAN
Callbacks:
Not everyone will be needed at callbacks.
It is likely that callbacks will be a mix of STUDENTS and ADULTS
​

Video Submissions
It is our STRONG preference that anyone interested in this production attend the in person auditions. However, if you are unavailable, you will have the ability to submit a video audition.
Video submissions MUST be submitted by the end of the day on Saturday, December 7th.

Please SIGN UP for the appropriate audition and the email with audition material will include instructions for video submissions.
Performance Information:

Rehearsals: Sundays between 1-7PM, January 5-March 2
Rehearsal Location: LUMI School of Musical Theatre
​Tech Rehearsals: Sunday, March 2 - Thursday, March 7 (5:30-10:00)
​
Performance Dates:
Friday, March 7 at 7:00 PM
Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 and 7:00 PM
Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 and 5:30 PM

Tech/Performance Location: The Arts Factory at West End Studios
​
ALL actors cast in this production must be available for ALL tech rehearsals and performances.

Participation Fee:
Please note that there is a $250 participation fee for everyone cast as a STUDENT in the production
Producing a full musical is costly, and the participation fee helps to cover rehearsal and performance space rent, production elements such as costumes, scenery, and props, as well as artistic team salaries.
Part of our mission is making the arts accessible to ALL. If the participation fee is a barrier for you/your family, please fill out our scholarship application. We are also happy to work out payment plans for anyone participating and you will discuss that with us once cast.
